It took me a little longer than I expected, but I uploaded Please Understand Me: A Patient's Perspective on Psychosis and Its Treatment to kindle yesterday. It's available now.
Please Understand Me explores what it's like to be hospitalized involuntarily when you don't believe there's anything wrong with you. It argues that treatment by force is experienced as abuse. It observes that being labeled as "mentally ill" is destructive to the patient. It provides suggestions about how one might help patients cope with and accept treatment. It offers insights into one patient's experience of involuntary treatment, insights caregivers can use to better help their patients and loved ones.
It's $0.99 on Amazon for now. I haven't scheduled its free promo yet. I'm waiting until I get some reviews. But I will let you know when it's available for free.
